From here, you’ll embark on a picturesque 3-hour drive to the historic hill capital of Kandy, passing through lush countryside, charming villages, and scenic tea-covered hills. Kandy, once the final stronghold of Sri Lanka’s ancient monarchy, is now a UNESCO World Heritage City that beautifully blends spirituality, culture, and natural splendor. Set on a scenic plateau surrounded by misty mountains and rich biodiversity, Kandy is home to some of the island’s most revered landmarks and tranquil landscapes.
