A visit to the main shopping street Karl Johans Gate, where street musicians, boutiques and pubs dominate the scene, is an absolute must. The Royal Palace, the Opera House, Akershus Fortress and the museum island of Bygdøy with the Kontiki Museum are also worth a visit (each optional).
