Everest Base Camp Trek 11 Days

This thrilling 11-day trek to Everest Base Camp (EBC) will take you to the exact place that Edmund Hillary (New Zealand) and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay (Nepal) in 1953 planned their climb to the summit of Mt. Everest (8848m). 

This trek takes you to an altitude of 5364 meters which is physically challenging due to the altitude but with ample time allocated to acclimatizing beforehand, it is certainly achievable. You will however need to be reasonably fit to complete this trek. Your guide will see that with gradual ascents to higher altitudes you will properly acclimatize. The scenery and amazing range of flora and fauna make the journey to EBC a more pleasurable experience. This relatively short trek gets you to EBC and back to Kathmandu in just 11 days.

On this trek you will visit the mostly Sherpa inhabited village of Namche Bazaar in the Khumbu District of Nepal. Along the trail you will see the ever-present colorful Tibetan Buddhist prayer flags, Mani stones (engraved with Buddhist mantras) and other Buddhist structures. Your trek is within the Sagamartha National Park. On the trails you will see some amazing wildlife, such as Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Musk Deer and the Himalayan Monal (brightly colored pheasant). A feature of this trek will be a visit to the famous Tibetan Buddhist Tengboche Monastery - the biggest Buddhist monastery in the entire Khumbu region.

The trek begins and ends at Lukla. The true highlight of this trek is reaching EBC and being able to take in the magnificent view of Mt. Everest from Kala Patthar – one of the best places in Nepal for its panoramic views of Mt. Everest. 

Sherpa Expediton Teams will take care of all permits, meals and accommodation along the trail. All you need is spare camera batteries!
