- After your individually booked stay in Vancouver, pick up your rental car and drive to the harbor in Tsawwassen, from where you take the ferry to Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island. The ferry crosses the Strait of Georgia with its numerous small islands, bays and rocky coastline. If you're lucky, you might spot orcas, dolphins and sea lions - but you're sure to see the charming Gulf Island, a real postcard motif. Once on the island, continue to Victoria. 2 nights. Approx. 70 km + ferry approx. 1.5 hours Standard: Chateau Victoria Hotel & Suites (mid-range). Superior: DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Victoria (upper middle class).
