After arriving in Cartagena in the afternoon or evening, you will be transferred to the historic walled city or the colonial district of Getsemaní, where you will stay for the next three nights. The remainder of the day is reserved for rest after your international flight.
Welcome to Cartagena de Indias on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Founded in 1533, the city became one of the most important ports in Spanish America during the colonial era. Due to its strategic location, Cartagena was frequently attacked by pirates, leading to the construction of one of the most extensive fortification systems in Latin America and the Caribbean. Since 1984, the historic center and fortifications have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
