From Salzburg, you cycle along the Salzach river via Hallein to Golling. Optionally, you can take an additional tour into the Bluntau valley. The next day you cycle via Werfen and Bischofshofen to St. Johann im Pongau. Then cycle to Bruck an der Glocknerstraße, where you can take the Postbus to Austria's highest mountain from July. As an extra tour, you can cycle around Lake Zell before reaching Kaprun. After a trip on the Pinzgaubahn to Krimml, you cycle to Lofer and back to Salzburg.

This moderately difficult cycle tour takes you along the well-signposted Tauern Cycle Path, which is of a high quality. There are mainly quiet paths and country roads. Only a few stretches are more heavily used. As there are occasional slight inclines, a solid basic level of fitness is recommended.
