Wonderful Bhutan Tour 6 Days

Bhutan has a distinguished status due to its focus on maintaining “happiness” and “health” among its people. This tour will take you to the major cities of Bhutan: Wangdue Phodrang (1273m), Thimphu, and to the smaller town of Paro. Bhutan is a Buddhist kingdom situated on the eastern edge of the Himalayas in the east of Nepal and is famous for its ancient monasteries, fortresses (or dzongs), and incredible landscapes that range from subtropical plains to towering mountains and lush valleys. Mt. Jomolhari (7,326m) is a popular trekking destination, as is the Paro Taktsang Monastery (also known as Tiger’s Nest) that sits perched on the side of the cliffs looking down on the Paro Valley. The temple was constructed in 1692, close to the Taktsang Senge Samdup cave where it is believed Guru Padmasambhava meditated for four Months in the 8th century. Bhutan is sincerely focused on species and habitat conservation, with more than 72% of the country under forest cover and 51.4 percent classed as protected. It has 103 tigers. Bhutan’s national animal is an odd looking animal called the takin that is a cross between an ox, antelope, sheep and a goat.

On this tour you will visit several fortresses, such as Rinpung, Drukgyel fortress and Kyichu Lhakhang. The visit to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang) is definitely a highlight of this tour.
